imperative to have a clear and comprehensive understanding of the dynamic birth
of the Church by the Holy Spirit.

III. Program Objectives and Related Specific Objectives:

A. Cognitive:
1. To inspire faith in God as we see Him in the Word.
2. To introduce the student to the content, history and theology of Acts.
3. To apply the universal principles of Acts tocontemporaryy life in such
matters as:
a. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the Christian community
and the church.
b. The community life and leadership of the church.
c. Evangelistic methods and structures.
4. To analyze the growth and problems of the New Testament.
5. To trace the relationship of Acts to the New Testament.
B. Performance:
1. The student will be able to teach others what he has learned.
2. The student will have a clear understanding of the structure, and leadership
methods of a New Testament
Church.

IV. Preassessment:

A. The student will write a brief paper on course goals.
B. The student will write a journal of insights gained from reading the book of
Acts.

V.Instructionall/Learning Alternatives:

A. The student will read the text in its entirety.
B. The student will answer all the blanks in the textbook.
B. The student will answer all questions found at the end of each lesson. (Answers
must be a minimum of one paragraph and a maximum of one half page)
C. The student will write a detailed teaching outline for each lesson.
D. The student will write a 3-5 page paper on two subjects from the list below. A
Bible, dictionary, and concordance can be used as helps. This must be the
product of your own study and work. Choose 2 of the 7 topics below to write a 3-
5 page paper on.

1. Was the death of Ananias and Sapphira unjust?
2. The flexibility of Paul in adapting his methodology to the unique
characteristics of specific audiences. Give at least three examples of the
use of this Pauline skill.
3. The Jerusalem council, described in Acts 15, represents a pivotal point in
the story of Acts. What was the point at issue? How was it resolved?
What significance did the decision have?
4. What is the main emphasis of the prophetic statements in Acts 1:11, Mark
13:26, 14:63, Matthew 24:30, 26:64, Luke 21:27?
5. List five important lessons on witnessing taught in 5:12-42. (Apply to a
contemporary context)
6. What valuable lesson for Christian servants is taught in Acts 8:40?
7. What spiritual lessons can we learn from Barnabas˜ recommendation of
Paul?
