COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A detailed study of the books of Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, and Ephesians. We will be looking at Paul’s full and orderly statement of the great principle of the gospel that he preached. In these five books we receive a full revelation of salvation and the new covenant as compared to the old covenant.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A detailed study of the books of Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, and Ephesians. We will be looking at Paul’s full and orderly statement of the great principle of the gospel that he preached. In these five books we receive a full revelation of salvation and the new covenant as compared to the old covenant.

I. Rationale:
To be able ministers of the gospel we must have a full understanding of salvation and the new covenant. Many false doctrines have come into the church because of a lack of understanding in these areas. Until we understand these important doctrines we will not be able to fully preach the gospel.

II. Prerequisites:
None

III. Program Objectives and Related Specific Objectives:

A. Cognitive:

  1. To inspire faith in God as we see Him in the Word.

  2. To introduce the student to the content, history and theology of Romans and Galatians.

  3. To apply the universal principles of Romans and Galatians to contemporary life.

B. Performance:

  1. Explain the plan of God for the salvation of the world and how we can live the Christian life.

  2. Practice what you have learned in your own life.

  3. Teach others what you have learned and are practicing in your walk with God.

IV. Preassessment:
A. The student will write a brief paper on course goals.

V. Instructional/Learning Alternatives:
A. The student will answer all the questions within the textbook.
B. The student will answer all questions found at the end of each lesson. (Answers must be a minimum of one paragraph and a maximum of one half page.)
C. The student will write a detailed teaching outline for each lesson.
D. The student will write a 5 – 7 page composition on any subject contained in the material in the textbook.
E. All work must be typed and turned in for marking.
