III. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND RELATED SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
A. Cognitive:

  1. To develop an appreciation for the intricacies of church administration.

  2. To understand various leadership roles in administering church business.

B. Performance:

  1. To be able to relate knowledge from the course to actual church involvement.

  2. To be able to train laypersons in the church for roles of leadership.

IV. PREASSESSMENT:
A. The student must write a brief paper on course goals.

V. INSTRUCTIONAL/LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

  1. The textbooks must be read in their entirety, and a chapter outline for each book must be completed.

  2. Listen to lecture tapes.

  3. Complete the open-book exam.

  4. Evaluate the leadership style and administrative effectiveness of a church through interviews with the pastor, administrator, and/or secretary, using tools from the assigned texts.

  5. Submit an acceptable 5–7 page term paper (typewritten) evaluating a church and making recommendations for change.

  6. The student will do collateral reading.

VI. SELF-EVALUATION:
A. The student will reread their brief paper on course goals.

VII. POST ASSESSMENT:
A. The student will complete the course instructor evaluation.
