COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the church we often use words that are not clearly understood by Christians or the world. In this course, the student will study the meaning of key theological terms and learn to apply them to their own life.
I. RATIONALE:
Communication of great Biblical themes is often misunderstood due to a lack of understanding of Bible words in context.
II. PREREQUISITES:
RS 101 is recommended but not required.

III. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND RELATED SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
A. Cognitive:

To understand the meaning of the great theological words that describe “so great a salvation.”

To apply these great words to one’s life, being able to explain them clearly to non-theology students.
B. Performance:
-
The student will be able to teach others what he has learned.

The student will be able to understand and explain the great words of the Bible.
IV. PREASSESSMENT:
A. The student will write a brief paper on course goals.
V. INSTRUCTIONAL/LEARNING ACTIVITIES:
A. The student will read the text in its entirety.
B. The student will complete all the work found in the Student Study Guide.
C. The student will write detailed teaching notes on each chapter of the textbook. These notes should expand the material in the textbook by adding cross-references, related teachings, and illustrations.
D. The student will write a 5–7 page paper on “The Importance of Theology.”
E. All work must be typed and submitted to the instructor in a timely manner.
